Does New Orleans allow video ads on digital billboards?

Published

July 24, 2026

Not always. Zoning in New Orleans restricts most freestanding digital billboards to one electronic sign per lot and completely prohibits audio components. The City of New Orleans has set the dwell time for each message on digital billboards at a minimum of 8 seconds. You’ll typically see full-motion video more often on transit screens, street furniture, and retail & shopping spaces than on freeway-facing boards.
