Summary

This tutorial explains how to select and customise digital screens (or boards) for a campaign using the CAASie map. Here are the main steps:

Map Overview: The map is interactive, allowing you to pan, zoom, and explore different areas. It shows available boards within the viewing area on the left panel, while tools and filters are available on the right.

Location Setup: Share your location to position yourself on the map or search for a city, suburb, or specific address. Ensure the correct country is selected for boards outside your region.

Filtering Boards: Use filters to narrow down the types of boards displayed, such as gas stations, convenience stores, or grocery shops. Customise venue types to focus on the most relevant options for your campaign.

Board Selection: Choose boards using three methods:

  1. Picking them from the left sidebar as you pan across the map.
  2. Clicking on pins on the map to bring up details like cost, specs, and an image, then adding them to your cart.
  3. Using the polygon tool to draw a shape and select multiple boards at once.

Advanced Tools: Access additional features, such as live traffic overlays and the option to upload custom data points for more complex targeting.
Budget Planning: After selecting boards, view your selection in the panel to check estimated costs and the number of boards. Adjust ad frequency to control campaign costs and exposure.

This process provides a user-friendly way to customise and optimise your digital out-of-home advertising campaigns.

0:01 - Now, the very first time that you use CAASie's map, you may get a notice up here that asks you to share your location.

0:07 - And that's just to position you within the map. Now, I'm based in Brisbane, so I'm positioned above Brisbane here. The map is interactive.

0:16 - So, we can click and drag to pan around. We can also scroll to zoom in and out. On the left-hand side here, you'll see a list of all of the boards that are within this viewing area.

0:29 - Oh, we also have the filters at the top here. On the right-hand side, we have your tool panel, and at the top, we have your search bar.

0:38 - And within your search bar, you can look for a city, a suburb, but you could also look for a specific address.

0:44 - So let's look for our office. Now one thing to note is that if you are looking for ad boards that are outside of your country, ah, you do need to make sure that you've got the correct country selected first.

1:04 - So we are in Australia, and that's correct for me. If I wasn't happy with this location, I can remove it.

1:12 - I have it from the map, but I will just close this for now, and we'll zoom in. You can see there's a red point there.

1:19 - Now that means that if I was supposed to search for multiple different addresses, they would each get their own point, and I could reference back to them at any point in time.

1:26 - Now when you're selecting your boards, there are three different ways to do that. We can look on the panel over here, hit the plus button.

1:38 - We can also click on any of these pins. And this will bring out the information panel on that specific board.

1:45 - So you get an image, you'll get a rough idea of the costs and the specs that are required, but either down the bottom here or up the top here, we can add that one to our cart.

1:53 - The third one is the way to select multiple screens at one time, and that's how polygon tool over here. But before we do that, we want to filter down on the map so that it's showing only the screens that we want to select.

2:10 - So I'm going to customize my venue types here. And let's say we want gas stations, convenience stores, and grocery shops.

2:20 - So that's narrowed down. Lots of visible on the map for me. And I know that when I do my polygon selection, it's going to be one of those three venue types that are within it.

2:30 - So to use the polygon tool, all we have to do is click to drop some anchor points. And we're just drawing a shape around the area that we want to select.

2:37 - And to finish this shape off, I can either double click, or just click back on that original anchor point. And now everything within that area is selected.

2:48 - There are a few other tools here on your toolbar as well, so we have, like, live traffic in, information, you can also upload your own data points, and those are a little bit more advanced.

3:01 - Once you've got your selection, you can have a look at that down here. So we have 23 boards selected, and we're aiming to spend about 20 minutes.

3:09 - $1 across all of those boards. Now that is just a guide for you to note that that's what we would expect to be spending to get one add roughly every 10 minutes.

3:22 - If we expand this, you can also review each of those. Like, well, not quite the right fit. We can select those and get as many as you need to.

3:32 - And then we get to remove them. I'm ready, so that's reduced the number. And then obviously the hourly budget is fun.
